Absolutely what we needed!

Reflectivity was as I had hoped for. Use cycling in inclement weather and on local trails while it is is dark.

High vis jacket

Jacket is bright and reflects well in low light when a source is shined in it. I have used it as an external shell during chilly or wet weather. I cycle regularly so having a bright high vis shell makes it safer when riding in traffic.
Only improvement would be a drawstring at the bottom of the jacket.

Colonists at the Settlement in 1607 didn’t wear this!

There’s no doubt about illumiNITE’s incredible visibility, especially if bicycling at night. I’ve used an illumiNITE jacket purchased from Performance Bike 15 or more years ago and love it. It’s state of wear and tear from many bicycle tours necessitated purchasing a new jacket so I checked out illumiNITE’s current offerings and opted for the Jamestown jacket. Upon receiving it I didn’t like its feel … almost like plastic, sort of brittle. That coupled with it not having any ventilation led me to believe it wouldn’t be a good cycling jacket for me (reason for 2 stars which may be a bit harsh) so I decided to return it. Hopefully the Rochester jacket I opted to exchange the Jamestown for will be better.
I’d recommend some ventilation be added to the Jamestown’s design, either using some mesh or arm pit zippers to allow for some air flow. I never wore the jacket riding since it was returned so maybe others will find it better suits their needs.
